Motorola Moto 360 (2nd gen), Moto 360 Sport launched; start at $299

Motorola Moto 360 (2nd generation) smartwatch has been announced and Motorola has also unveiled a Moto 360 Sport watch version.

Moto 360 also comes in three different sizes, two for men and one for women. The men’s Moto 360 will come in a 42mm case and a 46mm case. The women’s Moto 360 comes in a 42mm case and requires a 16mm band.
Motorola says the Moto 360 can be customised in the Moto Maker design studio and customers can choose from additional bezels, colours, materials.
The screen has Gorilla Glass 3 and a resolution of 263ppi (360 X 325) for the 42 mm version. The men’s 46 mm version has a screen resolution of 233ppi (360 X 330)
The battery on the new Moto 360 is 300mAh battery and Motorola says it will last up to 1.5 days of mixed use with Ambient light off and up to a full day of mixed use with Ambient light on. The men’s 46 mm Moto 360 has a 400 mAh battery which offers 2 days usage with ambient light off.

The Moto 360 (2nd gen) has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU (APQ 8026) with Adreno 305 with 450MHz GPU. It has 4GB storage space with 512MB RAM. The new Moto 360 is IP67 dust and water-resistant, supports Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. It has a optical heart-rate monitor and other sensors on the list are Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, Vibration/Haptics engine.
Moto 360 (2nd gen) is an Android Wear device that will work with all Android phones and now with iPhones. It also now has a Live Dials feature making it easier for users to open the apps they use the most with shortcuts on the watch face.

The Moto 360 has comes with what Motorola calls the “AnyLight display” which will adapt to the level of natural light around a user and they can read on the watch, no matter how sunny it is outside.
Moto 360 Sport has a fixed-in silicone band as well which has a special UV coating to keep away moisture and resists fading or staining. Moto 360 Sport has built-in GPS to track speed, distance, pace while the user is running or cycling and a heart rate sensor. With Moto 360 Sport, Motorola is offering up to two full days of user battery life.
Pricing:
Moto 360 will be available in various countries across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. It’s available for pre-order in the US from today.
The Moto 360 (2nd gen) starts at $299.99 and goes up to $429.99 depending on style. Motorola has not confirmed the pricing for the Moto 360 Sport.
